Hand coiled native clay has been used to create this lidded Spider Pot by Jennifer Tafoya Moquino. Jennifer has studied many varieties of spiders found around her house and the mountains close to her home. Jennifer has a a fascination with these wonderful creatures. She is especially fond of jumping spiders. She has one that sneaks into her house almost daily. He is gently removed to a sunny spot outside the house only to greet her the next morning where he was the day before. The pot is stone polished to a high sheen, pit fired, then is etched. Natural slips are added for the exquisite colors. Jennifer is an award winning potter from Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico. 3.5" tall by 5" wide |
