Ida Sahmie is probably the best known Navajo potters to use Hopi techniques to create her beautiful pottery. She uses the sacred Yei figures on many of her pots. Ida gathers her own natural slips and paints the pots using a Yucca needles. Ida pit fires her in an open pit. Ida is well know for her day and night Yei scenes. Her pottery has been exhibited in many Museums.
